Wesley King Coordinates Free Costumes for Imelda Affected Residents
Chambers County Sheriff Candidate Wesley King recently coordinated a costume drive for Winnie residents who were affected by Tropical Storm Imelda.
King personally funded the purchase of 20 costumes and coordinated with local business and community members who purchased nine more outfits. In total, 29 little police officers, super heroes and princesses (among other creatures) were able to hit the streets in style for a night of fun because of this effort.
“Supporting these families was the least that I could do in the wake of Imelda’s devastation,” said King. “We were able to give these kids a night of normalcy and fun after their lives had been turned upside down.”
King is running on the Republican ticket for the 2020 Chambers County Sheriff’s Election. He has spent his entire adult life working in the field of law enforcement, serving in both Harris and Chambers Counties. He and his wife, Robbie, are graduates of East Chambers High School and currently reside in Anahuac.
